Low cost advertising

The first part of 2018 Craigslist began charging for ads in its Services section causing a seismic shift on the platform. For years companies like Pegasus Ventures aggressively competed with legitimate competitors, as well as scammers and spammers on Craigslist. A large part of the web design portfolio today comes from clients finding Pegasus Ventures on Craigslist.

Before the change a legitimate advertiser paying nothing often needed to post 2 or 3 times a day just to stay ahead of the garbage. Unique word plays and use of html codes to make images appear in an ad helped bring customers to a small business using a very busy Craigslist section. The causal “once in a while business posting” saw little or nor results.

Paid ads make Craigslist stronger than ever for small business owners. The minimal charge essentially washes away anyone not generating  revenue from the platform.

As seen in the images below the small business, computer and creative services sections all lack for ads leaving the advertises with little competition. In the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Craigslist area plenty of opportunity exists for every small business owners for just $5 per ad for 30 days.

While the ad numbers dropped the overall use of the site remains robust with plenty of real estate for sale and rent ads, dozens of ads selling merchandise and even the jobs section, where employers pay $20 to post a job, keeps Craigslist a strong content rich platform and one of the best known places to look for jobs, buy a car, or find a home.

So why not give it a shot! But seriously for $5 how can you go wrong?
